What's on your bucket list?
Every journey begins with a dream. These are the extraordinary places I love to plan, and most of them I've experienced myself.
The Norwegian Fjords
Sheer cliffs, ribbon waterfalls and tiny villages at the water's edge. Sailing into Geirangerfjord early in the morning is one of the most beautiful experiences in travel, and the photo here is one I took myself.
Machu Picchu
Ride the train through the Sacred Valley to the lost city of the Incas, with a night or two in Cusco to adjust to the altitude. It pairs beautifully with the Galápagos in a single trip.
The Galápagos Islands
Darwin's islands, where sea lions, giant tortoises and blue-footed boobies wander right past you. Explore by small expedition ship, snorkeling and walking with naturalist guides each day.
Cherry-blossom Japan
Tokyo's energy, Kyoto's temples and gardens, the bullet train and Mount Fuji. Japan is spotless, safe and endlessly fascinating, and a wonderful place for a guided tour or a small-ship cruise.
Sydney & beyond
The Opera House and Harbour Bridge, the Great Barrier Reef, the Outback and New Zealand's fjords. It's a long way to go, so I'll help you see it right, often with a cruise and a few days on land.
Greenland & Iceland
Icebergs the size of buildings in Greenland's Ilulissat Icefjord, Iceland's waterfalls, geysers and puffins, and if you're lucky, the northern lights. Best by expedition ship.
Antarctica
The trip of a lifetime: penguin colonies, whales, towering icebergs and silence like nowhere else on Earth. I've planned it for clients, and they come home changed.
